This Privacy Policy describes how ExpenseTracker ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our iOS application. By using ExpenseTracker, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect your name and email address. This information is stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore) to power your account, enable role-based access, and allow store owners to manage employees.

Business Data

Information you enter into the App — including store details, transactions, appointments, and employee records — is stored in your Firestore account. This data is used solely to provide the App's features and is accessible only to authorized users of your account.

Receipt Images

When you use the receipt scanning feature, images are temporarily processed for text extraction. Scanned images are not stored on our servers after processing is complete.

Device and Usage Data

We may collect anonymized usage data (e.g., app interactions, crash reports) to improve the App. This data does not identify you personally.

Advertising Data

For users on the free tier, we display ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant advertisements. You can limit ad tracking through your iOS device settings under Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising. We display an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt before any tracking occurs.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the App — managing your stores, transactions, appointments, and team.
• To authenticate you — Firebase Authentication is used for secure sign-in.
• To manage subscriptions — RevenueCat processes subscription status so we can unlock premium features.
• To display ads — Google AdMob serves ads to free-tier users to support the App.
• To communicate with you — we may send important updates about the App or your account.

3. Third-Party Services

ExpenseTracker integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• With third-party service providers listed above, as necessary to operate the App.
• If required by law or in response to valid legal process.
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

5. Data Retention

Your account and business data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. We will delete your data within 30 days of receiving a verified request.

6. Children's Privacy

ExpenseTracker is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase security rules, encrypted data transmission (TLS), and role-based access controls. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access and receive a copy of your personal data.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.
